Women's Gymnastics Falls to West Chester on Senior Day

Springfield College Women's Gymnastics Class of 2012 Springfield, Mass. -- March 4, 2012 -- Despite individual wins by the Pride's Carly Flynn and Annemarie Graziosa, the West Chester University women's gymnastics team defeated Springfield College, 189.025 to 185.025, on Senior Day this afternoon at SC's Blake Arena.

Only two performers, both from Springfield College, competed in the all-around. They included freshmen Lauren Pocius (Wallingford, Conn.) with a score of 37.150, and Abby Clark (Holderness, N.H.) at 36.800.

West Chester was led by freshman Stephanie Schuler (Purcellville, Va.), who finished first in the uneven parallel bars at 9.625, and by senior Amber Miller (Sicklerville, N.J.) in the balance beam at 9.775.

West Chester actually had a third winner, junior Melissa Voskian (Brielle, N.J.), who tied with Flynn, a senior from Franklin, Mass., in the vault. They both had scores of 9.575.

The fourth winner was Graziosa, a junior from Eastchester, N.Y., who captured the floor exercise with a tally of 9.625.

The day featured three graduating seniors for the Pride. They included Flynn, Megan German of Spencer, Mass., and Kristina Lantos of Norton, Mass..

Final Score -- West Chester 189.025, Springfield 185.025
