MacDonald Featured on FOX CT For Helping Raise Awarness For "Be The Match" Program

Bryan MacDonald Springfield, Mass. - May 29, 2013 - Springfield College's Bryan MacDonald was featured on Connecticut's Fox Affiliate, FOX CT, for his efforts in helping raise awareness for the "Be The Match" program and their national bone marrow registry.

Over the past two years, the Rocky Hill, Conn. native has worked tirelessly to help promote this cause. In 2012, the Springfield College football program held its first "Be The Match" drive, and had nearly 200 students from across campus added to the registry. In fact, a member of the football team, Phil Baier, proved to be in fact be a match and this past February began the donating process.

This spring, MacDonald once again led the charge for another highly successful "Be The Match" drive, and has since then, continued to think of creative ways to increase awareness. He recently wrote and produced a rap song and music video, which has received several thousand views on YouTube.

“The main purpose and goal of creating the song was to help raise awareness of the national bone marrow registry and to help save lives,” MacDonald says.

In addition to being interviewed by FOX CT anchor Logan Byrnes, MacDonald performed his rap song on air. The single, entitled "Can't Do This On My Own", is available for purchase on iTunes.
