



Complete ResultsAlbany, N.Y. - October 15, 2011 - The Springfield College men's cross country team finished 14th out of 21 teams competing in the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Pride finished the 8,000 meter course with 370 points.
The host UAlbany Great Danes had three runners place in the top four to win the event with 36 points.
Springfield's top three runners all came across the finish line with each other as Ryan O'Connell tooked 61st in 27:02.5, Brian Fuller placed 62nd in 27:02.8, and Tony Salvucci crossed in 63rd in 27:03.
Matt Scully ran a 27:44.8 to finish in 88th, while Zach Pietras rounded out the scoring with a 27:52.3 to finish in 96th.
The Pride are off until October 30 when it will make a run at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) title at Franklin Park.
Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
