



MEDFORD, Mass., April 8, 2006 – Two Springfield College women qualified for the New England Division III Championships today at the Tufts Hillside Relay’s on a cold and rainy day in Medford, Mass.
The women included grad student Sarah Martin (Madison, N.H.) and freshman Lara Dalidowitz (Southington, Mass.). Martin ran a time of 16.24 in the 100-meter high hurdles, finishing 3rd in that event. Dalidowitz ran a time of 12:57.29 in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing 9th.
Others who performed well for SC Head Coach Jim Pennington included senior Yasmin Goris (Worcester, Mass.), who finished 6th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.30; senior Alisha Miner (Sanbornton, N.H.), who finished 4th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.11; freshman Kayla Robertson (Peace Dale, R.I.), who placed 5th in the high jump (4’11 ¾”) and 6th in the triple jump (33’3 ¼”) ; junior Karen Bonanno (East Meadow, N.Y.), who finished 8th in the triple jump (32’3”), freshman Silvienne Krosendijk (Seroe Biento, Aruba), who finished 3rd in the long jump (17’10 ¼”); senior Kelli Rand (Westbrook, Conn.), who finished 9th in the triple jump (32’0 ¼”); sophomore Amy Malsbenden (Bow, N.H.), who finished 8th in the discus (97’10”); and freshman Kelsey Bishop (Warwiick, R.I.), who placed 3rd in the hammer throw (140’8”).
Next week, Springfield hosts Coast Guard and WPI at 11:00 a.m. at Blake Field.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
