SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Nov. 1, 2003 – Springfield College junior All-American Megan Skinner (Acton, Mass.) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.57) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.72) to lead the Pride to a 159-126 win over Central Connecticut State and a 182-108 victory over Southern Connecticut State this afternoon at the Linkletter Natatorium.
SC sophomore
Lacey Feduke (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) took first place in the one-meter dive (208.70) and the three-meter dive (216.30).
Other SC winners included sophomore
Sarah Strout (Edgecomb, Maine) who won the 1000-yard freestyle (10.54.13) and senior
Beth Byron (Haverhill, Mass.) who won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.66).
On the men’s side, SC sophomore
Mike Shaw (Westfield, Mass.) won both the one-meter dive (269.50) and the three-meter dive (233.80) but it wasn’t enough as the Pride fell to Southern Connecticut State, 147.5-139.5 this afternoon.
Shaw’s score in the one-meter dive was good enough to qualify him for NCAA Championship.

Louis Arruda (West Warwick, R.I.) won the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.53) and sophomore
Dan Moran (Wilbraham, Mass.) captured the 100-yard butterfly (54,98).
