NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass., Sept. 17, 2005 -- Springfield College junior
Tetsuji Kambara (Osaka, Japan) placed 34th to lead the Pride to a 12th-place finish at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Shiners Invitational today (Sept. 17) in North Dartmouth.
Kambara covered the moist, five-mile course, in a time of 26:08 in his first race of the 2005 campaign. Senior
Scott Barton (Fort Plain, N.Y.) set a personal-best with a time of 26:45 as he placed 68th overall. Senior
Patrick DeRocco (Utica, N.Y.) finished in 26:49, taking 70th place. Junior
Patrick Hepper (Bernardsville, N.J.) ran 26:58 (78th place) and freshman
Michael Griffin (Scarborough, Maine) ran to an 83rd-place finish (27:04) in his collegiate debut.
The Pride placed 12th in the 33-team meet with 299 points. Keene State was first with 75 points, followed by Tufts (77) and UMass Lowell (115).
SC travels to Tufts University for its Invitational next Saturday, September 24th.

Head Coach Bryan Brown

Bryan Brown will enter his third season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2013. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, is the reigning NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading Springfield to its second-straight second-place finish at the conference championships a year ago .
