Men's Soccer Loses to Bridgewater State, 1-0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass., Oct. 8, 2003 – Bridgewater State sophomore midfielder Matt Bernstein scored the only goal of the match as the Bears defeated Springfield College, 1-0, in a non-conference match on Wednesday.

Bernstein scored the winning goal in the 60th minute off a pass from junior back Phil Howe.

SC junior goalkeeper Tom Bowden (Havertown, Pa.) continued his sensational season in net, tallying nine saves. Bridgewater State freshman goalkeeper John Naughton also stopped nine shots on his way to a shutout.

The Pride is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11:30 a.m. hosting MIT at Brock-Affleck Field.
