SPRINGFIELD, Mass., February 11, 2004 – Springfield College’s Blake Arena will be the site of the Volleyball Hall Of Fame/Morgan Classic on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21st.
One of the top men’s volleyball tournaments in the country, this year’s event will showcase top Division-I powers Penn State, Ohio State and UC-Irvine, along with three-time defending Division III National Champion Springfield College serving as host.
Friday’s first semifinal match pairs UC-Irvine and Ohio State in a 6:00 p.m. contest. Penn State and Springfield are set to square off in the evening’s second match at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, the tournament’s consolation match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., followed by the championship match at 8:00 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the door both days of the tournament. Adult tickets are $5.00, while senior/student tickets are $3.00. Springfield student tickets are $1.00.
Last winter, Lewis (Ill.) University won the VBHOF/Morgan Tournament title and went on to win the NCAA Division I/II National Championship.

With seven national championships to his credit, Charlie Sullivan will enter his 15th season as head coach of the men's volleyball team in 2013. In 14 previous years at the helm, Sullivan owns an overall record of 224-155 for a .591 winning percentage. Read more.
