Field Hockey Ranked No. 13 In First NFHCA Division III Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 14, 2004 – Springfield College is ranked No. 13 in the first National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Poll of 2004, released today. The Pride is currently 4-0 under first-year head coach
Melissa Rogers.
SC opened the 2004 campaign with wins over Endicott (4-1) and Western New England (5-0) to win its ninth-straight Zenaty Invitational Title, and then defeated Keene State (3-0) and Plymouth State (3-2) last week. The Pride travels to No. 10 Middlebury this afternoon for a 4:00 p.m. showdown with the Panthers, before returning home on Thursday (Sept. 16) for a 4:00 p.m. game with Conn. College.
The field hockey team is one of three SC teams ranked in the top-25 nationally this fall. The football team is No. 6 in the latest D3football.com poll, while the women’s volleyball team stood at No. 25 in the first American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll of the season.
