Men's Lacrosse Rolls To Pilgrim League Title

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 3, 2003 – Springfield College freshman attackman
Taylor Brown (Portsmouth, R.I.) scored four goals, while sophomore attackman
Dan Blinn (Longmeadow, Mass.) netted three goals to lead the Pride to a 14-4 victory over Western New England College in the championship game of the Pilgrim League Tournament. The victory earns SC its third conference title and automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament in the last four years.
Springfield (11-4), which won its ninth-straight game, led by a slim, 5-3, margin at halftime. The Pride scored six unanswered goals in the decisive third quarter, including three by Brown, who added to his SC freshman scoring record 73 points.
Sophomore midfielder
Kevin Warnock (Somers, Conn.) added a game-high three assists for Springfield, which avenged a, 17-16, loss to Western New England in the 2002 Pilgrim League Tournament championship game.
Senior attackman
Randy Milou (Ambler, Pa.) scored a pair of goals, while senior goalkeeper
Pat Dabrowski (Baltimore, Md.) stopped 17 shots for WNEC (8-9).
Pairings for the NCAA Division III Tournament, which starts Wednesday (May 7) will be announced Sunday (May 4) at 7:00 p.m.
