No. 20 Men's Lacrosse Fends Off Wheaton, 12-8

Derek Pedrick (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) scored four goals, while freshman midfieldeer
Steve Krasco (Medford, Mass.) added two goals and two assists to lead the No. 20 Pride past Wheaton College, 12-8, in Pilgrim League mens's lacrosse action this afternoon at Mirrione Stadium.
In the opening half, both teams battled back and forth through multiple lead changes. Wheaton scored the game's first goal, but the tallies by Pedrick and Krasco made it a 2-1 game in favor of the Pride (4-4, 2-0 Pilgrim). The two teams exchanged goals the rest of the half to make it a 5-5 game at halftime.
After Wheaton (3-5, 0-3 Pilgrim) opened the second half with a goal with 13:34 remaining in the third quarter, the Pride responded with three unanswered goals over a four-minute span to take an 8-6 edge and the lead for good. Senior attackman
Lars Keil (Andover, Mass.) made it a 9-6 game with the second of his three goals on the afternoon with one tick on the third-quarter clock. SC then outscored Wheaton, 3-2 in the fourth to secure the win.
Sophomore
Kyle Cloutier (South Hadley, Mass.)made 16 saves in goal for the Pride.
The Pride travels to cross-town rival Western New England, Wednesday (April 13), for a 4:00 pm rematch of last season's Pilgrim League Championship game, won by Springfield, 12-11.
