



Complete ResultsBrunswick, Me. -- November 12, 2011 -- Senior Michelle Mirti proved to be Springfield College's best performer at today's NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Regionals at Bowdoin College.
The native of Pompton Plains, N.J. finished in 74th place with a time of 23:19.94.
Behind Mirti was freshman Nora Letendre (Northampton, Mass.) in 137th at 24:22.19, then freshman Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) in 142nd at 24:27.01, and sophomore Gabriella Williams (Rutland, Mass.) in 143rd at 24:28.50.
In 150th was senior Sissell Holloway (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) in 24:36.66. In 173rd was sophomore Erica Fisher (Chicopee, Mass.) in 24:55.39. Rounding it out for the Pride was junior Nicole DeCristoforo (North Kingston, R.I.) in 188th at 25:07.06.
As a team, Springfield finished 19th (of 55 teams) with 646 points. The top 10 were as follows: Middlebury 55, Williams 60, MIT 134, Amherst 142, Tufts 181, Wellesley 186, Keene State 213, Bowdoin 238, Colby 242, and Brandeis 253.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
