Women's Track & Field Finishes Third at Bowdoin Invitational

Brunswick, Maine - January 18, 2014 - The Springfield College women's track & field team had three first place finishes Saturday in a quad meet with host Bowdoin, MIT and WPI. The Pride finished third as a team.

Gabby Gaudreault (Leominster, Mass.) won the 400-meter dash to lead the Pride with a time of 59 seconds flat. She also turned in a second place performance in 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:05.07.

Samantha Pomroy (Lebanon, Maine) was also a winner for Springfield, taking the 600-meter with a winning time of 1:42.39. The 4x200 relay team of Gaudreault, Katherine Saia (Wallingford, Conn.), Darian Dailey (East Providence, R.I.) and Elizabeth Saia (Wallingford, Conn.) combined for a winning time of 1:50.57.

Amanda Martin (Bristol, Conn.) did well for Springfield, placing second in both the long jump (16-10) and the triple jump (35-11.25).

Next Saturday the Pride will host Stevens, Trinity, RPI, Ramapo, Westfield State, ECSU, Worcester State, Assumption, AIC, and CCNY.
