



Complete ResultsCortland, N.Y. - March 11, 2013 - The Springfield College women's gymnastics team finished fourth at the ECAC Division III Championships on Sunday afternoon after scoring a 184.625.
Brockport won the team title and ended Cortland's two-year reign as champion with a final score of 190.775. Cortland finished with 188.125, followed by Ursinus earning the final ECAC bid to nationals with a third-place score of 185.725. Rounding out the field were Springfield (184.625), Ithaca (183.95) and Rhode Island College (175.625). Wilson College had one athlete compete as an individual entry.
The Pride had three of the top five all-around performances of the afternoon, with Lauren Pocius taking second with a 37.575. Abby Clark took third with a 37.300, while Brittany Baglow rounded out the top five with a 36.900.
Pocius had an incredible showing on the uneven parallel bars, as she tied the school record of 9.65 to finish as a runner up in the event. The school mark is held by former standout Meg Geddes, who established the mark in 1993.
Baglow had Springfield's best score on the vault, taking seventh with a 9.550 and tied for ninth on the floor exercise with a 9.625. Clark also tied for fifth on the balance beam after scoring a 9.625.
With their finishes today in the competition, several athletes have qualified to compete in the NCGA National Championships, which will be held in Whitewater, Wisc. on March 22-23. In addition to Pocius, Baglow, and Clark, Sarah Perry, Annmarie Graziosa, Keelin O'Connell, Nicole Caradonna, Jen Habeeb, Rachel Mattison, and Kristen Feliu will all represent Springfield on the national scene.



Cheryl Raymond, who will be entering her 34th year as the women's gymnastics coach and assistant professor of physical education at Springfield College in 2013-2014, is one of the top college coaches in the region. Read more.
