No. 13 Field Hockey Upends Conn. College, 3-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., - Sept. 16, 2004 - Springfield College freshman
Brittany Veazie (Dexter, Maine) scored one of three second-half goals to lead the No. 13 Pride to a 3-1 win over visiting Connecticut College this afternoon on Benedum Field.
The Camels (0-2) shut out the Pride offense in the first half, as freshman Alex Albright put Connecticut on the board at the 19:37 mark for a 1-0 lead after the first period of play.
Junior
Sarah Brooker (Auburn, Maine) got SC (5-1) going with an unassisted tally at the 30:54 mark of the second half. Veazie, who has scored at least one point in five of the Pride’s six games this fall, netted the eventual game winner off an assist from junior
Alisha Miner (Sanbornton, N.H.) with 6:23 remaining in the game.
Senior All-American
Kim Stevens (Knox, Maine) added an insurance goal with 2:47 remaining in the contest to lead the Pride to victory.
SC returns to action next Wednesday (Sept. 22) with a 7:00 p.m. game with visiting Amherst.
