



Complete ResultsCambridge, Mass. - February 11, 2012 - Several members of the Springfield College women's track and field team competed in the non-scoring MIT Coed Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Jenn Kapinos won the 600 meters with a 1:40.55, while Erica Fisher was also victorious in the 3,000 meters after crossing the finish line in 11:27.99.
Alex Mustardo was the runner-up in the 1,000 meters after registering a 3:21.24, while Bethany Young clocked in at 28.26 in the 200 meter dash. In the 4x800 relay, the Pride's team of Michelle Mirti, Gabrielle Williams, Kapinos, and Mustardo ran a first-place time of 10:10.39.
Kelly Curtis ran a 8.95 in the 55 meter hurdles, had a leap of 4-9.75 in the high jump, recorded a distance of 16-01.75 in the long jump.
In the triple jump, Amanda Martin took fourth with a mark of 35-04.50 . Michelle Angelo tallied a distance of 36-01.25 in the shot put, and in the weight throw, Colleen Brague recorded a third-place finish after a heave of 44-02.75.
Rhian Duggan was the runner-up in the pole vault after reaching a height of 10-00.00.
Springfield will next compete in the New England Division III Championships on February 17-18 at Smith College.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
