Martin Headed To NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Amanda Martin Springfield, Mass. - May 19, 2014 - Springfield College junior Amanda Martin (Bristol, Conn.) will compete in the triple jump at the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, May 24.

The Physical Therapy major reached a qualifying distance of 11.65m and has her seeded 22nd in the event. She will compete at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon at OWU's Shelby Stadium.

This marks the third time that Martin has reached the NCAA Championships. As a sophomore in 2013, Martin went to both the indoor and outdoor championships. Martin took 10th in the indoor triple jump and placed 13th at the triple jump in the outdoor championships.

She was previously named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Year this season after winning both the long and triple jump at the NEWMAC Championships earlier this April.
