



Springfield, Mass. - March 7, 2011 - Senior Mark Eaton has been selected as the Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Week after a very strong start to the season for the men's lacrosse team.The reigning Pilgrim Lacrosse League Player of the Year has been a catalyst for Springfield in its' 2-2 start to begin the 2011 season. Eaton was won 59.7% of his draws from the face-off "X", going 46-77, to go along with 28 ground balls. Running on Springfield's second midfield line, the Westford, Mass. native has added a goal and five assists as well.
Eaton kicked off the season winning 14-of-21 attempts at the "X" and picked up seven ground balls while dishing three assists in the Pride's 12-6 win at Gordon. He followed that with a masterful performance in Springfield's 11-8 win over No. 17 Nazareth, wining 12-of-20 face-offs and scooping up seven ground balls.
In a 9-6 loss at Endicott, Eaton picked up a season-best nine ground balls and scored his first goal of the season, before dishing two assists and winning 11-of-19 face-offs in a loss to 20th-ranked Stevens.

Keith Bugbee enters his 30th season as head men's lacrosse coach at Springfield College in 2013. Under his direction, the Pride is one of the top programs in the country. Bugbee's coaching record stands at an impressive 317-149 (.680 winning percentage). Read more.
