



Springfield, Mass. -- February 11, 2012 -- The Springfield College wrestling team jumped out to a 48-0 lead before it ultimately defeated Williams College, 48-6, this afternoon in a New England Wrestling Association match at the Springfield College Field House. With the win, the Pride has now improved to 14-3.The Pride is currently ranked #11 in the nation, and #2 in New England.
Winners by pin today for the Pride included freshman Eric Hamrick (Collingswood, N.J.) at 149 pounds, senior Ryan McGilvray (Manalapan, N.J.) at 157, and junior Nicholas Camera (North Massapequa, N.Y.) at 184.
For Williams, junior Tom Foote (Dunbarton, N.H.) was a winner by pin at heavyweight. Foote is currently ranked #10 nationally, and #2 in New England.
SC does not wrestle again until the NEWA Championships Feb. 25-26, this year to be held at Trinity College. SC is the defending champion in that tournament.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
