No. 9 Field Hockey Topples Ithaca, 9-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.,--October 17, 2004 – Springfield College junior forward
Amber Paradee (Sheldon, Vt.) scored three goals and added an assist as the No. 9 Pride defeated No. 17 Ithaca, 9-1, in a non-conference field hockey game this afternoon on Benedum Field.
Paradee scored the first two goals of the match to lead the impressive offensive output by the Pride. First-half goals by freshman
Brittany Veazie (Dexter, Maine), senior
Kim Stevens (Knox, Maine), and sophomore
Amy Drake (Bellingham, Mass.) gave SC a 5-0 lead at halftime.
The Pride continued the scoring in the second half on Paradee’s third goal with 24:48 remaining in the match. Junior
Alisha Miner (Sanbornton, N.H.), senior
Lydia Grant (Granby, Conn.), and junior
Meghan Bascetta (Granby, Conn.) tallied the final three goals for the Pride.
Ithaca (6-7) would finish the scoring off when Joy Bostrom scored off a pass from Joanna Meinhart with just a minute left in the game.
The Pride travels to Smith College on Tuesday, October 19 for a conference match at 7:00 pm.
