Salve Regina Rallies Past Baseball, 12-9, In ECAC Tournament
QUINCY, Mass., May 8, 2004 -- Springfield College sophomore third baseman
Derek Yvon (East Longmeadow, Mass.) went 2-for-5, including a seventh-inning grand slam, but it was Salve Regina defeating the Pride, 12-9, in the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Tournament held at Eastern Nazarene College.

Matt Basteri (Melrose, Mass.) and sophomore designated hitter
Adam Tarquini (Fiskill, N.Y.) each collected two hits and two RBI for the Pride.
SC took a 7-4 lead in the seventh inning on Yvon’s grand slam. The Seagulls answered with eight runs, including seven unearned, en route to the win. Sophomore Alex Bush knocked a three-run double and sophomore Eric Tanguay connected on a two-run home run for Salve to highlight the inning.
SC reached the ECAC Tournament semifinals on the strength of a 5-4 win over Eastern Nazarene on Friday. Basteri broke a 4-4 tie with a game-winning ninth inning home run. Junior catcher
Anthony Gorneault (Springfield, Mass.) did a great job behind the plate, throwing out two runners and picking off two others. Eastern Nazarene entered the tournament with 13 stolen bases.
The Pride ends its season with a 16-12 record including 13 victories in its last 16 games.
