Field Hockey Ranked No. 10 In First National Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 9, 2003 – The Springfield College field hockey team is ranked No. 10 in the first STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Poll of the season, released today.
The Pride (2-0) opened the 2003 campaign winning its seventh-consecutive Springfield Invitational title on Sunday, defeating Westfield State, 2-1, in the semifinals, and Hartwick (N.Y.) College, 3-0, in the championship. It was the fifth-consecutive year the Pride has beaten Hartwick in the tournament final.

Kim Stevens (North Knox, Maine) was named the tournament MVP and joined senior
Katie Olson (Windham, Maine) on the All-Tournament Team.
Head coach
Dottie Zenaty is in her 34th year on the SC sidelines. Since moving to Division III in 1995, the Pride has made three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, including the national semifinals in 1999, and the national championship game in 2000.
