



Complete ResultsNew York, N.Y. – March 3, 2012 - The Springfield College men’s track and field team finished sixth at the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend at the Armory Track and Field Center.
62 teams scored in the major regional event, which was won by Bates, who totaled 69 points. Tufts finished second with 48 points, while the Pride registered 29 points to place sixth.
Kevin Coyle won the triple jump with an NCAA automatic qualifying distance of 14.89 meters. Coyle later took fifth in the long jump after recording a distance of 6.95 meters.
Brian Fuller was also victorious on the weekend as he claimed the 3,000 meter title in 8:21.42
Springfield had a very strong showing in the 5,000 meters with Fuller taking sixth after crossing the finish line in 14:43.32, while teammate Ryan O’Connell was right behind him in 14:45.60.

Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage. Under his direction, Kevin Coyle '12 won the 2011 Division III Indoor Long Jump National Championship.
