Murray Honored as Division III National Player of the Week in Field Hockey
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- September 30, 2008
-- After leading the field hockey team to a pair of victories last week, Emily Murray
has been selected as the Division III National Player of the Week by womensfieldhockey.com.
Murray, who hails from Boonton, N.J., recorded a goal and two assists on the week as the Pride improved to 5-2 on the season.
In a mid-week non-conference contest against Amherst, Murray tallied the lone goal in the game as the Pride edged the visiting Lord Jeffs, 1-0.
On Saturday in the Pride's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener, Murray led the 20th-ranked Pride to a 4-3 win over No. 17 Babson. Murray dished out two assist in an 11-minute span, including one on the the eventual game-winning goal, as the Pride knocked off Babson.
