



Wellesley, Mass. - October 15, 2012 - For the third time this season, Anthony Salvucci was honored as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.A product of Burlington, Mass., Salvucci helped lead Springfield to an eighth place showing at the Connecticut College Invitational. The senior ran the 8,000-meter course in 25:22 to finish fifth out of the 233 total runners.
Springfield will compete for the conference title in two weekends, when they travel to Northampton, Mass. to compete in the NEWMAC Championships.
Bryan Brown will enter his third season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2013. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, is the reigning NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading Springfield to its second-straight second-place finish at the conference championships a year ago .
