Women's Tennis Cruises Past WPI, 7-2
WORCESTER, Mass. Oct. 1, 2002 – The Springfield College women’s tennis team cruised to its fourth straight win by besting WPI, 7-2, in a New England Men’s and Women’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest.
Senior captain
Liz Poulin (Waterville Maine/Waterville) helped the Pride improve to 4-5 on the season by defeating Alison Aery, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 1 singles play. Poulin also was victorious in her No. 1 doubles match with junior teammate
Melissa Boyington (Vernon, Conn./Rockville). The Pride tandem scored an 8-1 win over Aery and Natasha Vargas.
The Pride will host Western New England College in a cross-town match-up Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. at Appleton Courts.
