Women's Tennis Wins Fifth Straight By Defeating WNEC, 6-3
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Oct. 9, 2002 – The Springfield College women’s tennis team won its fifth-straight match behind senior captain
Liz Poulin (Waterville Maine/Waterville) as SC edged cross-town rival Western New England College, 6-3, at Appleton Courts.
Poulin defeated Tricia Trioano, 6-3, 6-2 in first singles competition and the SC captain teamed with junior
Melissa Boyington (Vernon, Conn./Rockville) scoring an 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles play.
With the win, Springfield evens its record to 5-5 (2-5, NEWMAC) while WNEC drops to 5-1.
