Men's Cross Country Runs to Fourth at Tufts Invitational
GRAFTON, Mass., Sept. 25 2004 – Springfield College sophomore
Tetsuji Kambara (Osaka, Japan) placed 14th in a very good field of 132 runners to lift the Pride to a fourth-place finish at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday.
Kambara, who is emerging as one of New England’s top runners, completed the five-mile course in 27:24.

Patt Gann (Guilford, Conn.), junior
Scott Barton (Fort Plain, N.Y.), senior
Steve Wilson (West Hartford, Conn.) and senior
Pat DeRocco (Utica, N.Y.) worked as a pack together to finish within 15 seconds of each other. Gann was the second SC runner to cover the five-mile course (31st/28:14), followed by Barton (33rd/28:22), Wilson (35th/28:24) and DeRocco (38th/28:29).
The next meet for the Pride is the New England Championships, October 8 in Boston.

Bryan Brown will enter his third season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2013. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, is the reigning NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading Springfield to its second-straight second-place finish at the conference championships a year ago .
