



Bristol, R.I. -- November 7, 2011 -- The Springfield College wrestling team is now third in the latest New England Wrestling Association weekly poll. The Pride trail Wesleyan University and Johnson & Wales after finishing fifth in the Ithaca Invitational this past weekend. Wesleyan is in first place with 111 points, and six first-place votes. Johnson & Wales is in second with 102 points and five first-place votes.
Springfield is in third with 98 points and one first-place vote. In fourth through 10th in the poll is Rhode Island College with 81 points, Plymouth State with 78 points, Roger Williams (50), Williams (48), U.S. Coast Guard (39), Bridgewater State (28), and the University of Southern Maine (15).
SC next hosts the Doug Parker Invitational on Saturday, November 19, at Blake Arena.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
