AMHERST, Mass., September 25, 2003 - Springfield College freshman midfielder
Hallie Vail (Greely, Maine) scored one goal and had an assist, but the Pride lost to Amherst College, 4-2, on Thursday.
The goal was Vail's first of the year, and it came on an assist from junior fullback
Meghan McTear (Barre, Vt).
Amherst junior forward Ashley Harmeling scored the first three goals for the Lord Jeffs (3-2-1), all in the first half.
SC senior forward
Laura Harwood (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored her second goal of the season in the 49th minute of play off of a nice cross from Vail.
Springfield falls to 3-3-1 on the season and will be at Babson College on Saturday, September 27, in its first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.
