Bridgewater State Edges Men's Soccer, 2-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., October 9, 2002- Springfield College freshman Zach Pereira (East Providence, R.I.) scored the lone goal for the Pride off a penalty kick in the 73rd minute but SC dropped a tough 2-1 decision to visiting Bridgewater State, 2-1, in overtime in a non-conference match at Brock Affleck Field.

The goal scored by Pereira gave Springfield College a 1-0 lead, but Bridgewater State’s Timothy Clinton answered two minutes later to even the score at 1-1. It was Clinton scoring again, this time in the 108th minute, as he netted his second of the day off a feed from Deron Jackson to win the game for the Bears. Bridgewater State improves to 5-2-1 overall.
