Springfield, Mass., Jan. 15, 2003 - Springfield College freshman
Sarah Strout (Edgecomb, Maine) captured first place in the 100 yard freestyle (57.67) and the 200 yard freestyle (2:04.19) to lead the Pride to a 167-125 win against Smith College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference meet Wednesday night at the Linkletter Natatorium.
SC senior
Alison Melage (Union, N.Y.) placed first in the 1 meter dive with 275.65 points. Freshman
Alicia Hart (W. Hartford, Conn.) finished first in the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.81. The Pride improve to 4-3 on the season.
Smith sophomore
Sarah Rogers won both the 100 yard breaststroke (1:12.30) and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:40.10). The Pioneers fall to 2-3 this winter.
The Pride compete this Saturday at home against New York University.

Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and is entering his 28th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2012-2013. The current NEWMAC Men's and Women's Diving Coach of the Year, Avdoulos has coached countless All-New England and All-American divers, as well as several National Champions.
