Softball Honored by NFCA For Academic Success

Softball Honored by NFCA For Academic Success Starkville, Miss. - October 25, 2012 - The Springfield College softball team was honored for its academic success and was selected as a 2012 NFCA Division III All-Academic Team. Among the 400-plus Division III softball programs across the country, the Pride had the third-highest grade point average in the nation last season.

Last season, the Pride owned a GPA of 3.57, tied with Washington University of St. Louis for the third-best in the nation. Fontbonne University's 3.595 was tops in the nation, followed closely by MIT's 3.589.

On the field a season ago, Springfield owned a 25-16-1 record and was led by NEWMAC Pitcher of the Year, Ashley Marino, and NEWMAC Coach of the Year, Julie Perrelli.
