



Springfield, Mass. - April 12, 2010 - For the second time this outdoor, Steve Headley was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week.Headley helped power Springfield past Coast Guard and WPI this weekend in a tri-meet hosted by Coast Guard.
The Wilbraham, Mass. native ran very well for Springfield as he took first in the 100 (10.66) and 200 (21.76), provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the 100. Headley joined with teammates Garrett Sharnick, Nickel Hay, and Matt Amendola to win the 4x100 in 42.41.

Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage. Under his direction, Kevin Coyle '12 won the 2011 Division III Indoor Long Jump National Championship.
