It is the second-straight ranking period in which Springfield College has been rated No. 1 in this poll. Daryl Arroyo's troops received 10 first-place votes and totaled 127 overall points. One notch below is Johnson & Wales with 104 points.
In third place is Williams with the remaining three first-place votes and 96 points.
In fourth through 10th are: Wesleyan with 94 points, Roger Williams (87), Plymouth State (66), Bridgewater State (48), Rhode Island College (37), Southern Maine (36), and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (13). No other teams received votes.
Springfield finished fourth of 13 teams at Messiah College's Petrofes Invitational this past weekend in Grantham, Penn. The Pride, however, finished best among teams from New England. Sophomore Joe Grippi (141) and senior John Archambeau (165) were winners of their respective weight classes.
SC will host WPI in its first dual meet of the year on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 7 pm in Blake Arena.
