Men's Tennis Rolls By Hunter, 9-0

Springfield, Mass. - March 28, 2013 -The Springfield College men's tennis team blanked Hunter College, 9-0, on Thursday afternoon at Appleton Courts to win their third-straight match.

The Pride opened up the match by sweeping all three doubles matches, led by Ben Burnap and Kyle Mersereau's 8-1 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot.

In singles play, Springfield captured all six matches to secure the 9-0 victory. Mersereau had a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1, while Burnap turned in a 6-1, 6-2 performance at No. 2. Joe Giannelli prevailed 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3, while teammate Alex Orban won at No. 4, 7-5, 6-3.

Zac Goldstein added a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5, and Joshua Robinson claimed No. 6 by virtue of his 6-3, 6-0 performance.

The Pride will open up its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) schedule this Saturday as it travels to take on Babson at 1:00 pm.
