Women's Tennis Falls to Mount Holyoke, 8-1
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct. 12, 2004 – Springfield College senior
Suzanne Caiati (New Canaan, Conn.) won at number #1 singles in close fashion at 2-6, 6-3, (11-9), but Mount Holyoke defeated the Pride, 8-1, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's tennis match this afternoon at Appleton Courts.
The Lyons were led by sophomore
Aleksandra Mihailovic (Sibenik, Croatia) who won her #2 singles match by a score of 6-1, 6-1, and won at #2 doubles, 8-1.
SC falls to 3-9 (1-6 NEWMAC) while the Lyons improve to 3-5 (2-4 NEWMAC). This was the last home match for the Pride this season recording a home record of 2-1. SC looks towards the New England Championships that will begin October 15-17.
