Women's Soccer Outlasts Babson, 1-0
, Sept. 27, 2003 - Springfield College junior forward Jessica Kovacs (Dalton, Mass.)
scored the game's lone goal in the 76th minute to lead the Pride to a 1-0 win over Babson in SC's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener, this afternoon.
Kovacs' goal, which was assisted by junior forward Molly Desroches (Belchertown, Mass.)
, was a blast from 20-yards out that glanced off the Babson keeper's outstretched hands.
SC sophomore Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.)
made six saves to earn her fifth shutout of the season.
The Pride improve to 4-3-1 (1-0-0 NEWMAC) while the Beavers fall to 2-6-2 (0-1-0 NEWMAC).

John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 13th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in five of the last seven years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country. His clubs have registered an impressive a 152-70-19 record.
