Women's Soccer Outlasts Babson, 1-0

WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 27, 2003 - Springfield College junior forward Jessica Kovacs (Dalton, Mass.) scored the game's lone goal in the 76th minute to lead the Pride to a 1-0 win over Babson in SC's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener, this afternoon.

Kovacs' goal, which was assisted by junior forward Molly Desroches (Belchertown, Mass.), was a blast from 20-yards out that glanced off the Babson keeper's outstretched hands.

SC sophomore Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.) made six saves to earn her fifth shutout of the season.

The Pride improve to 4-3-1 (1-0-0 NEWMAC) while the Beavers fall to 2-6-2 (0-1-0 NEWMAC).
