



Troy, N.Y. - May 17, 2012 - Colleen Brague placed second in the javelin to highlight the opening day of the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the Springfield College women's track and field team on Thursday.Brague finished as the runner-up after totaling a distance of 41.16m, while Kelly Curtis placed fourth with a mark of 40.46m. Haley Regan also had a strong showing for Springfield, tossing the javelin 40.02m to finish in seventh.
With the 15 points earned from the javelin performances, Springfield is in sixth place overall.
Springfield's 4x400 relay team of Gabriella Gaudreault, Jenn Kapinos, Crystal Davis, and Kelly Murphy failed to score as they placed 10th in 3:58.72.

Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
