



Springfield, Mass. - December 6, 2010 - Senior forward Matt Cavalieri was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week after powering the Pride to three wins last week. In the three victories, Cavalieri averaged 21 points and 10 boards per game.The West Warwick, R.I. native kicked off his week in a thrilling win over Keene State in which he netted 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting to go along with eight boards.
Over the weekend in the Pioneer Valley Classic, Cavalieri was outstanding as he was named to the All-Tournament team. When the Pride bested Elms on Friday evening, Cavalieri poured in 23 points and snagged 11 caroms. He would then go on to post 16 points and 11 rebounds in Springfield's win over Westfield State on Saturday.
The senior shot 21-of-54 (38.9%) from the field and 19-of-23 (82.6%) from the charity stripe throughout the week.

Charlie Brock in 2012-13 will enter his 15th season as the head coach at Springfield College and his 33rd season as a head coach overall. Brock’s achievements as a coach are certainly impressive. He has taken three schools to the NCAA Division III Tournament and has an overall, 32-year record of 440-397. Read more.
