Springfield, Mass. - October 13, 2008 - Morgan Rein was honored as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week after she led the Pride to a 2-0 week.The Mystic, Conn. native tallied both of the Pride's game-winning tallies as Springfield improved to 4-0 in league play and 8-4 overall this week.
On Tuesday, Rein found the back of the cage just under four minutes into the contest to jump start the Pride's offense that eventually downed Clark 5-0.
In the Pride's 1-0 win over Wheaton on Saturday, Rein netted the only goal of the contest with 20 minutes left in regulation to lift the Pride to victory.
After eight years as head coach of the Pride, Melissa Sharpe, has continued the SC tradition of winning on the field hockey turf, posting an impressive 120-58 record, good for a winning percentage of .674 at the helm of her alma mater. Read more.
