Men's Gymnastics Places Third at Army

Ryan Ponce Complete Results

West Point, N.Y. -- March 4, 2012 -- The Springfield College men's gymnastics team competed this afternoon at the U.S Military Academy and finished third of three teams. Sophomore Ryan Ponce of the Pride placed first in the still rings with a score of 15.300.

Team scores were as follows: Temple 340.900, Army 334.900, and Springfield 323.900.

A native of Tolland, Conn., Ponce's score was a season-high in the still rings.

Meanwhile, SC junior Jimmy Pezzino (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished third in the vault with a score 14.300.

Senior Ty Evans (San Jose, Calif.) placed second in the all-around with a tally of 81.700.
