Headley Named NEWMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Steve Headley Babson Park, Mass. - March 29, 2010 - Springfield College senior sprinter Steve Headley was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week after a solid start to the 2010 outdoor season this past weekend.

In Springfield's outdoor opener at the Jerry Gravel Classic hosted by Westfield State, the defending National Champion cruised to a win in the 100m. Headley met NCAA Championship provisional qualifying standards after registering a time of 10.73 seconds.

Ken Klatka Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage.
