



Complete ResultsNorthampton, Mass.- October 27, 2012 –The Springfield College women’s cross country team finished eighth out of 10 competing teams at the NEWMAC Championships on Saturday. The Pride finished the 5,000 meter course with 201 total points.
MIT was able to win the event with a low score of 15 total points, as they had the top eight finishers overall.
Gabriella Gaudreault was the top finisher for Springfield as she came in 20th after finishing with a time of 19:31.20.
Elizabeth Footit was the second finisher for SC as she finished with a time of 20:41.92, good for 56th out of the 145 total runners.
Sarah Knop placed 65th overall for the Pride with a time of 20:55.33, while Erica Fisher was next for the Pride, as she clocked in at 20:56.44, good for 68th overall.
Abby Wright rounded out the top five finishers for the Springfield team as she ran a time of 21:18.37.
The women’s cross country team will be back in action next weekend, as they travel to Williamstown, Mass. to compete in the ECAC Division III Championships.
Jim Pennington enters his 28th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2011-2012. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
