No. 6 Men's Wrestling Places 13th at NCAA Championship
WILKES-BARRE, Pa., March 2, 2002 - - Senior
Calvin Johnson (Providence, R.I.), and junior
Keith Poloskey (Middle Island, N.Y.) each placed to lead No. 6 Springfield to a 13th place finish at Saturday's NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship at the First Union Arena at Casey Plaza.
Johnson placed fourth in the 125-pound class after battling his way through the consolation bracket by winning a pair of matches before narrowly dropping a 2-1 decision to Matt Vos of St. John's.
Poloskey, meanwhile, earned three wins by decision en route to a solid fifth place finish in the 141-pound class.
Springfield tallied 25.5 points in the 59-team field. Augsburg totaled 87 points to win the team championship. Upper Iowa (81), Wartburg (81), University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (68), and Buena Vista (63.5) rounded out the top five teams.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
