Fatima Rose Complete Results

Springfield, Mass. -- December 10, 2009 -- Led by Nikki Hay, Rosi Cummings, and Fatima Rose, the Springfield College women's track & field team won its own 5-Way Meet tonight at the Springfield College Field House. The Pride finished with 228 points, followed by Connecticut College (115), Eastern Connecticut State (111), Westfield State (68), and Mount Holyoke (22).

Hay wound up winning the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.30 seconds. She had a winning time of 7.29 seconds in the same event on the same surface just last Saturday. Hay also won the long jump with a leap of 5.31 meters, which qualified her for the ECAC's and the New England's.

In addition, Hay helped SC win the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:47.47. She anchored that relay, which also included Crystal Davis, Laurie Jenkins, and Joy Jennifer.

Another highlight of the evening was provided by Cummings, who won the 600 meter run with a school-record time of 1:39.60.

Rose was a double winner on the night. She won the shot put with a toss of 11.73 meters, as well as the weight throw at 15.54 meters. SC went 1-2-3-4 in the weight throw. Behind Rose came Lindsey Edwards, Rachel Keyworth, and Michelle Angelo. In the shot put, the SC order went 1-2-3, with Angelo and Keyworth in second and third.

There were many more highlights, including that of Lindsey Eby in the 3000 meters. By winning that event in 11:19.95, Eby shaved an incredible 40 seconds off her personal best in what had to be the biggest personal gain of the night.

In the 400 meters, the Pride went 1-2, with Joy winning with a time of 1:03.78, qualifying her for the New England's. Jenkins took second. In the 800, SC also went 1-2, with Lacey Cartier providing a rock-solid winning time of 2:28.71. Emma Lang took second.
