Women's Soccer Rolls Past MCLA, 6-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 14, 2004 – Springfield College senior
Molly Desroches (Belchertown, Mass.) scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Pride to a 6-1 victory over Mass. College of Liberal Arts in a non-conference women’s soccer match at Brock-Affleck Field this afternoon.
SC jumped out to a 4-0 first half lead to improve to 2-1-1 this season. Senior
Meg McTear (Barre, Vt.) scored the Pride’s first goal off a feed from Desroches nine minutes into the match. Desroches gave SC a 2-0 lead just over two minutes later, and junior
Amanda Nealon (East Falmouth, Mass.) made it 3-0 at 16:27 off a pass from McTear. With 6:40 to play in the first half sophomore
Hallie Vail (Greely, Maine) added the final goal of the first half.

Courtney Russell (Ilion, N.Y.) also recorded goals.

For MCLA, Amanda Bleau scored the Trailblazers lone goal off a penalty kick in 73rd minute.
