Mantie Tabbed NEWMAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Babson Park, Mass. - September 13, 2011 - Senior Katie Mantie was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after guiding Springfield to a pair of victories last week.

In two games, the Wallingford, Conn. product scored four goals, including a pair of game winners, to go along with an assist.

In Springfield's 6-0 win over Rhode Island College, Mantie scored three goals and tallied an assist in the first half. In the Pride's 2-0 win over 18th-ranked Brandeis, Mantie scored midway through the first half to lead the Pride to victory.

Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in five of the last seven years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country.
