Men's Lacrosse Too Much For Wheaton, 25-7

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 12, 2003 – Springfield College freshman
Taylor Brown (Portsmouth, R.I.) netted a career-high seven goals and added three assists as the Pride defeated Wheaton College, 25-7, in Pilgrim League action this afternoon on Benedum Field.
Sophomore midfielder
Adam Cost (Camilus, N.Y.) scored four goals while junior attackman
Paul Purdy (Brewster, N.Y.) chipped in with two goals and three assists for SC (5-4, 2-0 Pilgrim), which won its fourth game in five contests.
Springfield scored the game’s first five goals, including two straight by Cost, and led, 5-1, after the first quarter. Sophomore attackman
Kevin Warnock (Somers, Conn.) scored two of his three goals on the afternoon less than a minute apart to open a 10-goal second quarter, as Springfield took control with a 15-3 halftime advantage.
Senior midfielder
J.J. Valez (New York, N.Y) was credited with two goals and an assist for Wheaton (2-6, 1-1 Pilgrim), which dropped the third of its last four games.
