Field Hockey Falls To Smith In OT, 1-0
October 30,2002 -- Springfield College sophomore Linsdey Pardue (Houston, Texas)
compiled 11 saves in 77 minutes, but Smith College scored an overtime goal to lift the Pioneers to a 1-0 victory over the Pride in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference match on Wednesday night.
Smith freshman Emily Leonard scored the winning goal with an assist by junior Amy Killelea seven minutes into the first overtime period.
Tonight's game was the regular season finale for both teams. The Pride and the Pioneers will be in action on Saturday in the first round of the NEWMAC Championship with Springfield traveling to Mount Holyoke and Smith traveling to Wellesley for 1 p.m. contests.
